Subject: how long is the time sink 1 - 60
I just got this game last night, and I was able to get to level 3 fairly quickly..However, I am sure the levels go down. How bad is the time sink to level up?

A few of my friends which were completely new to the game made it to level 60 in a period of two to three months. It's really dependant on how you make use of your time, and how focused on leveling you are. For instance, if you take your time leveling, work heavily on proffesions or spend a great deal of time helping other lower level players it could take considerably longer.

And of course knowledge of the game is key. My second level 60 character progressed at a much faster pace than my first, and now I can get a character to thirty with ease in a matter of a week.

Eyonix, you forgot taking in the sights and relaxing in a hot spring while chatting with guildies. And don't forget playing the Auction House. I've gone weeks without leveling because I get distracted with goofing around.

There's so much to not do in this game! It's hard work.

Hehehehe, so true. There are plenty of ways to invest your time beyond leveling and my initial response only listed a few. For instance, I'm often drawn into returning to an area of the game which was once problematic and decimating monsters which I feel harmed me in an emotional way. A few examples would be the Son of Arugals in the Silverpine area, and pretty much any Harpy.

Yes, I said emotional. At one point before beta, I was under the impression that the Son of Arugal was an individual named monster that hunted me across the entire zone due to a very real and specific hate.
