Subject: WoW-Euro: Official Response to HD Scans!
Not sure if this has been posted already. If so please forgive this second thread. I didn't want to sift through our General forum.

http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general-en&t=459249&s=new&tmp=1#new

Blizzard has always taken an aggressive stance against cheating in our games, and this measure, as discussed clearly in our Terms of Use, is an example of our efforts to protect legitimate players and the integrity of the game service from those attempting to gain an unfair advantage through the use of hacks. As stated in the Terms of Use, the information we obtain is solely for the purpose of identifying cheating in World of Warcraft and for no other reason. Please note that we do not share this information with anyone outside of Blizzard.

We realize this is an important issue to many, but we want to focus the discussion to one area to properly address player concerns, and that ultimately, our efforts are for the benefit of the players, so all future threads on this matter will be automatically closed and linked here.

In such a case as this, we're very limited by what we can say in many regards. I'm aware the response was very impersonal but it's also the only one I have to give you.

Q u o t e:
what ur sayin is you gotta be carefull not to lie?

I am saying that, as I'm sure you're aware, it's very important that we say what we can while still remaining within policy. It's vague, we know that, but specifics would only further the cause of the very practice we're trying to prevent. What I have to give you on this subject is what I've already given, and no more.

Q u o t e:
I know it's not your fault Cay that you can't provide the information. That's not your call, and that's fine. But...

Can you just rationally provide for me a justification as to why the EURO boards received a confirmation first? Why they have it up as a sticky? And why after it was posted in this forum, did we get any kind of a response that is not up as a sticky in this forum?

We all had the information -- they picked when to post it, translated it so they could, and once it was up we followed suit.
